Can The New Ford GT Drive Through a River? This Test Shows the Results
When it comes time to make sure that a car is safe for consumer use, automakers must put it through the wringer, ensuring that it’s able to stand up to a variety of real-world scenarios to make sure that the car will be reliable and durable for everyday driving.
This time, we check out quite the interesting test that takes the brand new Ford GT and puts it up against the “Water and Splash Test” to make sure that the car would be able to keep on functioning as according to plan if the driver were to attempt to put the car through some standing water – willingly or not.
According to Ford, the car managed to pass with flying colors, maintaining all systems throughout the process and plowing through the water with as much ease as could be expected as it makes it across and to the other side. We have to say that this portion of the testing most certainly does put on a show!
Check out the video below that takes you to the scene of the test and allows you to watch as one of Ford’s newest supercars is put through conditions that a GT might never have to see again. With how valuable these things are, we’d be inclined to think that most drivers won’t even bring their cars outside if there’s as much as a single cloud in the sky!
