Chevrolet’s Jim Campbell reflects on Dale Jr.’s Career, Impact on the Sport
Now that it’s final and the last checker flag has waived in the final race that Dale Earnhardt Jr. would be participating in, everyone is starting to talk about his career as a whole, giving credit where credit is due and discussing exactly how he has contributed to the sport and all of the different individuals, teams, and brands that have surrounded the racing that Junior has participated in. Not only did he have one of the biggest names in the sport of NASCAR but he also lived up to that name, really using loads of hard work and dedication to continue contributing to the Earnhardt Legacy that had begun in a big way with his father.
This time, the Vice President of Chevrolet’s Performance Vehicles and Motorsports division takes to the microphone, giving us a little bit of perspective on exactly how a single race car driver could alter the sport as a whole and also help one of the biggest brands on the face of this Earth to grow even bigger as he has shown a great deal of effort to help push both the sport surrounding him and those who supported him to new levels by not only conquering races but also helping off of the track in different ways by doing things like introducing new models and helping on SEMA projects.
Even though his racing career is over, we get the feeling that Junior isn’t done in this world of racing just yet as he will probably continue on to operate in the business side of things for the foreseeable future, really helping out with brands like Chevrolet to recognize their goals. Only time will tell what actually happens for Junior but for now, we think it’s time for him to just take a minute to rest and appreciate all of the hard work that he has put in over his career that has afforded him the opportunity to take a well-earned break from all of the hectic action going on around him.
