Chevy Picks Green Flash Name For Latest Camaro Special Edition
About a month ago, Chevrolet revealed a pair of special edition Camaros destined to be the last for the current fifth-gen car (the all-new sixth-gen Camaro is just around the corner). One of these didn’t have a name, with Chevy providing fans the opportunity to name the car by posting suggestions on the Camaro’s official Facebook page.
Well, Chevy used the recent SEMA show in Las Vegas to announce the winning name: Green Flash. The name was suggested by Camaro fan Jason M., who clearly was inspired by the car’s green exterior.

The Camaro Green Flash will be available for sale in the first quarter of next year, as a 2015 model. It will be available in coupe or convertible bodystyles but come exclusively in Camaro SS trim, meaning power will come from a 6.2-liter V-8 engine. The car will also come with a host of appearance upgrades.
Chevy’s other special edition Camaro for the 2015 model year is the Camaro Commemorative Edition. It celebrates the success of the fifth-gen car (it’s set to be the best-selling performance car in the country for five-straight years, with more than 400,000 sold since the 2009 launch) and marks its final year on the market. This one is available with V-6 or V-8 power, depending on trim.
