Christopher Bell Emerges as Victor After Massive Wreck at Texas
Timothy Peters took a wild ride at the end of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway, ending the race a lap early due to the timing of the crash. Because of Peter’s wild ride, the race victory would be awarded to the truck that was in first place at the end of the lap on which the crash occurred, which came down to a few inches.
After reviewing the footage closely, NASCAR declared Christopher Bell the winner, as Bell’s #4 truck just edged out the #29 of Chase Briscoe by the smallest of margins. All the drivers were uninjured in his crash, which found Peters airborne and upside down sliding down the front straight after Austin Wayne Self lost control of his truck and slid down in front of Peters, leaving him nowhere to go and no time to get there. The jarring impact between Self and Peters sent both trucks down into the grass, thankfully keeping other drivers from being collected in the mayhem.
We had to watch the finish several times and just marveled at how close it was. What a spectacular way to end a race!
