Corvette Reveals C8 Convertible, Will Only Come as Hard Top
It seems like recently, Chevrolet’s marketing team is firing on all cylinders. More specifically, no matter what we see with the Chevrolet Corvette, it seems to create quite a ruckus online. With the eighth-generation Corvette, we saw all sorts of different outlets reporting on the brand-new ride. This time, so some not quite as big news has come out but is still stirring up talks around the water cooler.
While we definitely will have to wait for more performance variants of the Corvette like the Z06 or potentially ZR1 to rear their heads, there are some exciting new developments in the world of C8 that came to light today. With the latest updates on the car, we learn that the vehicle will, in fact, come with the option for a convertible.
This isn’t necessarily a surprise to anybody. Pretty much every generation of Corvette has come available with this option. Actually seeing it is pretty exciting, though. We learn that there will be a twist this generation, as well.
In addition, we do learn that the Corvette will not come with a traditional ragtop just yet. Instead, we will see a hardtop convertible that should serve to give the mid-engine vehicle a little bit of a sportier appearance. The hardtop should serve to provide more structural rigidity as well. With the new mid-engine configuration, we just couldn’t help but wonder what exactly a convertible version look like and where the top would go.
By following along with the video below, we get the first peek at how exactly the latest and greatest Corvette convertible is going to appear when it hits the streets. In addition, we get to see where that hardtop is going to go. For those wondering about the specs on the top, it’ll open or close in 16 seconds at up to 30 mph.
