Alleged Craigslist Hustler Gets Caught and Confronted on Video

If you should just so happen to be looking for a vehicle, Craigslist might be one of the first places that you go. With plenty of cars and sellers who might be willing to negotiate, it really seems to be a good resource to link people together. However, with any used car sale through a private party, you’re pretty much out of luck if you drive away and the car ends up being a dud. Sure, If the seller didn’t really know what was going to happen and you tried to reason with them, well, you might be able to get somewhere, however, the seller really is no liberty to give your money back, particularly in an “as-is” deal.

Now, with a deal like this, there’s probably a pretty split opinion on what exactly should be happening here. Apparently, in this situation, the seller in question repossesses cars and then when they’re legally (we would assume) clear of their previous owner, puts them on Craigslist to get rid of them quickly and make some money. In this situation, if he’s being honest, you can really see how the seller wouldn’t really know all that much about the car and therefore, as we said previously, sell them as-is. This can provide a quick sale and leaves him off the hook for any liability that might come if the car ends up breaking down.

However, on the other side of the coin, when these people bought a car and it broke down shortly after driving away from the purchase agreement, as they claimed, they were pretty upset as you could definitely see and there’s definitely an argument on their side as well. If you follow along with the video below, you can see the interaction between these two that was just a little bit hostile. At the end of the day, legally, there’s probably absolutely nothing that the buyer can do to get their money back because when you enter into an as-is deal, you’re agreeing that whatever happens next will fall on you. However, morally, people might have a clash of opinions on how exactly this one should be handled.
