Crash Caused By Front Tire Blowout, Or Was It Rider Error?

The title and description of this video say one thing, but the video itself… it tells a different story.

This short clip shows a Harley rider losing control of his cruiser and hitting the pavement, and his crash causes the rider behind him to lay his bike down as well. However, if you look closely, the front tire really doesn’t appear to be flat. Instead, judging by the way the bike’s front wheel sweeps out from under the rider, it appears he grabbed a little too much front brake and lost control. There’s even some tell-tale smoke from the front tire that points to rider error and not a blowout.

It’s also worth pointing out that the rider didn’t have on gloves, so his hands were likely shredded after this crash. Always wear your gear, guys. You never know when you’ll need it, and if it gets to that point, it’s too late to decide to wear it!
