Cummins Powered Mustang Screams to Life
In the landscape of engine swaps, the possibilities are nearly endless. No matter what engine and car combination you can think up, if it’s physically possible, there’s a way to get it done! All it takes is a little bit of willpower and sometimes a dose of creativity.
One thing that’s of note is that a common engine swap will likely come together much more smoothly. One of the reasons that people toss Coyote and LS engines in everything is not only because of how accessible they are. It also has to do with how many companies build parts that support these swaps. Let’s just say that if one were to want to do something like stick a Cummins in a brand new Ford Mustang, that likely wouldn’t be the case.
This time, over on Westen Champlin’s YouTube channel, that’s exactly what we watch as it unfolds. It seems like Champlin is a little bit unsure of how all of this will come together as he gets started. At one point, he even remarks that he’s not too sure if it’s going to fit properly and that the only way to know for sure is to tear things apart. However, after some time investment and a little bit of shoehorning, the project starts to come to life.
By following along below, we get to ride along with what is shaping up to be quite a project. We’re not sure that any of these late-model Mustangs have yet to receive the heart of a diesel truck. However, we’re mighty curious to see how it’s all going to pan out. By following along with the video below, we get to see the “Smoke-Stang” start-up for the first time. Hearing a Cummins exhaust note coming from a Mustang is certainly going to take some getting used to.
