Daddy Dave is Prepped And Ready For The BADDEST Small Tire Radial Race – Lights Out 9!

Boys and girls, the time is drawing near for the “Unofficial Official” kickoff for the 2018 racing season. While there’s really not an off season, as there are races in Florida, Texas and Arizona throughout the winter, but most of the country takes a 3 month break from late November through mid-February, when Duck X Productions’ Lights Out signals the return of racing to a large portion of the country.

Last year, Street Outlaws star Daddy Dave bolted on a set of small tires and headed to South Georgia Motorsports Park for the eighth running of Lights Out, where he jumped right into the thick of the heated battle in Outlaw Drag Radial. Surprising many, Dave ripped off a string of passes in the 4.2 second range including a pair of 4.21’s to set the bar in qualifying. A redlight ended Dave’s day in round two, but it seems like he got a little taste of radial racing and is itching to try his hand once again at Lights Out 9.

To keep his numbers under wraps, Dave will be running the badass No Time Shootout, where the rules are pretty wide open, meaning Dave will have to throw everything he has at his Chevy II’s new ProLine 481X powerplant to cover the hyper-sticky eighth mile as quickly as possible. With an estimated 1,000 more horsepower on tap over where he was last year, the car should be capable of dipping into the 3’s if the car is able to put it all down without standing on the rear bumper, something that Dave experienced in pre-Lights Out testing last year.

With the purse for the N/T shootout standing at a stellar $36,000 this should be one of the most exciting classes at the event, which annually draws hundreds of cars from all over the country to compete against the best of the best in the small tire world. Look for action to start flooding your timelines on Valentine’s Day, when pre-race testing will be in full effect!
