Daily Driven Cummins Makes How Much Power? (ALL OF IT)
If we’re talking about the diesel community in the world of racing, it’s easily a community that you can say has taken leaps and bounds in the past couple of years. These days, if you head out to watch the diesel truck racing scene, you can see trucks easily muscling their way into the 10-second range and sometimes beyond! This is really something that you might not have seen trucks doing as early as just a couple of years ago, after all. It’s really amazing to watch these vehicles that redefine the word “heavyweight” as they hit the drag strip and throw all of their momentum down the track at incredible rates.
This time, it’s a Dodge that’s up on the chopping block as that Cummins power is really chugging away, pushing all kinds of torque to the wheels as it nearly changes the rotation of the globe on its way down the strip, managing a couple of impressive passes as it busts his way into the 10s. I don’t care how many times I watch something like this! It will always be impressive to me to watch something that big that makes that much torque, playing around in the range that most sports cars couldn’t even get to a decade ago and many struggle to reach today. It really goes to show you just how quickly this kind of technology can evolve and bring all sorts of different machines into the mix. That’s exactly what makes racing like this so exciting.
The video down below from BigKleib34 takes you on the scene at Street Car Takeover down in Charlotte, North Carolina as this beast of a Dodge roars its way down the track, making some truly impressive things happen out there on the quarter-mile of racing surface even though it tips the scales more than almost any other machine on the premises.
