Dale Earnhardt Jr. Feels Confident in his Safety After Wreck at Daytona

After missing much of the 2016 season due to concussion symptoms, Dale Earnhardt Jr is back in action on the Monster Energy NASCAR Series, though his return at the Daytona 500 didn’t quite go as he’d hoped. Junior, in his ubiquitous #88 Chevrolet, crashed out of the season opener on lap 106 after getting tangled up in one of several big crashes that steadily shrunk the field of cars throughout the day.

After his crash, Earnhardt met with the media to discuss his in-car eye test and how his team adjusted his seat to keep his head from slamming into the seat, which should help greatly with eliminating future concussions. Junior finished the race in a disappointing 37th, but the season is just starting, so he has plenty of time to build momentum toward taking his first ever NASCAR series championship.
