Dale Earnhardt Jr. is Finally Back! Testing at Phoenix Raceway
Dale Earnhardt Jr missed half of the 2016 season after suffering what was dubbed “concussion-like symptoms” midway through last year’s campaign. Luckily, he’s back behind the wheel, testing first at Darlington in December, and now at Phoenix Raceway.
Junior, arguably the most popular American auto racer today, has made it clear he’s not quite ready to retire, despite rumors of just that after he was ruled medically ineligible to compete last season. While he may be a little rusty, it won’t take Earnhardt long to regain his form and begin pursuit of that elusive Monster Energy Championship. With his familiar Nationwide livery, Dale hit the track at Phoenix, where he’s taken home three career wins, and laid down a few hot laps.
Hopefully Junior will shake the cobwebs and make a run that the points championship in 2017, checking the one huge glaring item missing off of his career to-do list.
