Daytona 500 Doesn’t go as According to Plan, President Trump Makes LOW Entrance in Air Force One

Last week, we got word that President Donald Trump would be attending this year’s Daytona 500. As the biggest race of the year, the president wanted to get down there and check it out. It’s only appropriate given that Daytona has been dubbed “The Great American Race.”

Unfortunately, the kickoff to the 2020 NASCAR season wouldn’t exactly go as according to plan. Instead, a rain delay would tease us for hours. Eventually, the event would be postponed until Monday. This wouldn’t be great news for fans heading down as many are going to have to head back to work.

A Grand Entrance

While fans didn’t exactly get the show that they came for, perhaps, they found some joy in the ceremony that comes alongside the race. After all, being the biggest race of the year means that things are a little bit more extravagant for the Daytona 500. Let’s just say that the red carpet gets rolled out a little bit more than it will for other races throughout the season.

One of the highlights that we saw was the entrance of the 45th President of the United States. Of course, President Trump was traveling in on Air Force One. However, his descent into the airport certainly wasn’t low-key. Instead, he decided he would make a statement when approaching the race.

Fans would get the treat to watch Air Force One “Buzzing the tower,” as Representative Michael Waltz would say from aboard the plane. It’s really a shame that none of the theatrics would lead to much racing. However, for those interested, today, we will get to watch the rest of the race unfold.

With a future that experts find questionable, it’ll be interesting to see how this season of NASCAR ends up unfolding. Will the sport pin down 2020 as the year that marks a great resurgence?
