Debate: Who Is Right, The Pandhandler or her “Victim”? 78 Year Old Busted & Confronted.

Alright guys, let’s have a debate here. There are two distinct sides to this situation and I personally don’t feel it’s my place to decide who is right or wrong, so I’m going to pose the question to you in the Court of Public Opinion.

Here are the two sides, as I see them. What we see in the video is an obviously angry citizen attacking a woman for walking away from her panhandling and getting in a relatively new car, one that is newer than the car driven by the guy who claims to have given her money many times. The guy’s argument is logical and understandable, as the lady obviously presents herself in a certain way that’s not representative of her actual situation to elicit handouts from passersby.

On the other hand, she doesn’t force anybody to do anything they don’t want to do. She does misrepresent her situation, but she also has to lower herself to the point of asking others for money on the street, which doesn’t exactly invoke pride in one’s self. For some it’s a sad reality, while for others, it’s what most would call a hustle, a way to make ends meet without punching a time clock from 9 to 5 daily.

So what do you guys think about this? Is this guy justified in his anger, or is it just misplaced because he realizes he’s been hustled out of his money and is feeling slighted? If you could make enough money to pay your bills by panhandling, would you be able to do it? What if you lost your job and had to choose between begging and losing your home? There could be reasons why this lady doesn’t have other options, or she could have just figured out that this is the way she wants to get by.
