Distracted Motorcycle Rider Lands in the Bed of a Truck

Distracted drivers are one of the biggest threats to our safety on the roads today, not to mention they’re a danger to themselves.

It’s one thing to be distracted when driving a car, but if you’re on a motorcycle, you should be far more aware of your surroundings, since the only thing protecting you from almost certain injury or worse is being keenly aware of what’s going on around you. Bikes offer great speed and amazing maneuverability, allowing the rider the ability to escape danger, provided they see it coming. If the pilot isn’t paying attention, though, things can get ugly really quickly.

For example, not seeing that the small truck in front of you is about to hit the brakes as you follow closely behind can result in you ending up in the bed of that truck, dumped unceremoniously on your head as your bike takes a beating along with you. And thanks to a perfectly placed dash cam, we have this example of exactly that, as this biker seems to be looking everywhere except in front of him as the truck he’s following slows. And as expected, when he does notice what’s happening, he panics, locks up the brakes, and rolls himself right up onto the bed of the truck.

Luckily, he doesn’t appear to be too badly hurt, except for maybe in his pride and his pocket, as there’s gonna be some damage to his bike after this little mishap. Pay attention to the road, folks, because those around you may not be.
