Dodge Now Sells 1,000 HP Crate Engines for $30,000. Yes, Really!

Within our world of automotive modification, many are constantly on the search for the combo that makes the most horsepower. The catch is, though, that sometimes, that power needs to come on a strict budget. Let’s face it, most of us need to piece our vehicle together one part at a time. However, with the way that horsepower is becoming more obtainable these days, that might just be a thing of the past. It seems like more and more factory options are coming to light to scratch that itch. Even lightly modified, some of these combos are flying.

With the downward trending dollar signs, we’re seeing more incredible offers than ever before. Perhaps, one of our favorites is the fact that enthusiasts can now grab 1,000 hp at a decent price from Dodge. Recently, the cost of the 1,000 hp and 950 lb-ft of torque Hellephant power plant dropped its price. The combination can be on its way to you for a cool $30,000. We know what you’re thinking. That certainly is a lot of money. However, when considering factory reliability, it doesn’t seem like a bad deal at all. The vast majority of builds that cross that threshold will probably surpass that price tag anyway.

This $30,000 7.0L supercharged v8 will come with a water pump, flywheel, front sump oil pan, fuel injectors, and coil packs. $2,265 more will include an assembly kit that includes the ECU and wiring harnesses. The kit promises near plug-and-play installation for pre-1976 cars. Other accessories like air conditioning support and custom exhaust manifolds can be ordered through Mopar. That’s certainly another point in the “pro” column for this wild combination. Not only is a brand new 1000 hp engine ready to just be plugged in. A whole gamut of support is available for it as well. No more trial and error or forum surfing to find the right components.
