Donkey Gets Sued for Chewing on McLaren 650s, Causing $6k+ in Damages
We’ve seen some obscure things pop up in the news over the years. Thanks to the internet, we get the feeling that those oddball stories are never going to stop coming. How many people could’ve predicted that a court case between a McLaren and a donkey would ever exist?
For Markus Zahn, the owner of a McLaren 650s, that obscure situation would be his reality. When he decided to park his McLaren near a fence, it turned out that the animal contained by the fence would get a bit curious. Eventually, the donkey known as “Vitus” would end up approaching the machine. He wouldn’t stop with looking at it, though, as he allegedly decided to start chewing on it. We’ve heard of being cautious in parking lots but this case is just a bit ridiculous, to say the least!
When all was said and done, the damage caused would tally up to $6,000! We’re just trying to imagine the mindset of someone who dropped that much money on a car having it chewed up by a donkey. This is certainly one that we don’t run into every day. We’re sure that the judge had some confusion in trying to figure out who to award the money to as well.
The owner refused to pay for the damage when asked. The dispute ended up in court and the McLaren owner won. When all was said and done, the $6,000 would be awarded to the owner of the McLaren. The donkey’s owner argued that McLaren’s owner shouldn’t have been parked near the fence, but the plea was futile.
The video below takes the liberty of spelling out a couple more details and showing off the damage. I guess that the McLaren owner is going to think twice before taking a parking spot in the future.
