Drift Legend Ken Gushi Teaches NASCAR Driver Erik Jones How to Drift
When rounding the corners of a NASCAR track, there are a lot of factors to keep in mind in order to keep your goals in sight, managing to outrun the other drivers around the track and hoist that trophy at the end of the competition that says you were better able to execute than everyone else. One thing that you definitely want to avoid while behind the wheel of such a machine is going sideways. Long story short, if that happens, it definitely won’t be a good time.
This time, We check out a situation where a NASCAR driver actually does wants to go sideways. As he kicks off his abilities as a circle track competitor and tries to convert them into another form of motor sports, it’s pretty interesting to see how Erik Jones begins to figure out the ins and outs of operating a drifting machine. As you could imagine, the physics and different abilities that you have to bring to the table are a vastly diverse set from what we’re sure these drivers have to handle while behind the wheel of a stock car.
If you follow along down in the video below, you’ll be able to watch a drift legend, Ken Gushi, as he does what it takes to hand the reigns to Erik in order to get him a little bit of experience in sliding sideways. Now he just needs to train his brain to forget this information when it comes time to throw down on Sundays.
