Duck X Productions Drops BOMBSHELL on Radial World: $101K TO WIN RVW SHOOTOUT!
It’s no secret that Donald “Duck” Long has a penchant for taking the road less travelled and leaving an interstate highway in his wake, and he’s blazing another freeway directly through the small tire world again. Yesterday, Long announced that he will host the Mickey Thompson Tire Sweet Sixteen Radial vs the World Shootout. The event will be unique for more reasons than the massive payout, though:
- There will be only one class, Duck X’s showcase eliminator, Radial vs the World
- Only 500 spectator tickets will be sold, ensuring a truly VIP experience for those who attend
- There will be limited media coverage, providing exclusivity to those fortunate enough to be chosen.
- The event will be live-streamed, but don’t expect to watch for free. An event of this caliber deserves to be PPV.
In true Donald fashion, he announced the event, to be held next March at South Georgia Motorsports Park, via Facebook live as his friends, fans and countless haters racked up the views and comments. Word spread like wildfire across social media immediately, with myself being tagged in several posts about the event in the hour following the announcement.
It will be of great interest to see just how this goes down. Duck X events are usually crammed full of spectators (estimated as high as 35,000 a day) and racecars (typically between four and six hundred) spread amongst a dozen or more classes, each of which takes a toll on the track. With no other focus but putting down the tackiest possible racing surface for the quickest small-tired cars on the planet, the SGMP staff will be able to use the time between rounds to carefully prepare the track for the task at hand.
Within minutes of making the announcement, a running list of commitments for the event began floating around. With small tire legends Stevie Fast, Kyle “BAD9ER” Huettel, and Dewayne Mills taking on the likes of Frankie “Madman” Taylor, Jeff Naiser and Ty and Todd Tutterow, who may be new to small tires but certainly aren’t new to going fast, things could get really interesting come March 2018.
