“Dukes of Hazzard” Luke Duke Speaks Out For The Very First Time Following His Arrest

Back in the day, the Dukes of Hazzard was one of the biggest hits to strike pop culture. For its time, the TV show struck a vein, as the boys of Hazzard County found their way into the hearts of many. However, off the screen, it recently would appear as if one of the actors, Tom Wopat, has found his way into some real life trouble. We have to preface this with the idea that these are currently just allegations and no verdict has been found yet, but it would appear as if “Luke Duke” has quite the road ahead of him.

It was reported, that about a week ago, on August 2, that Wopat was seen in front of his fellow cast members for a current project, grabbing a female actor in an inappropriate way. Since then, the story has blown up and led everyone who has caught wind of it to wonder what actually happened on that day.

The NY Daily News has caught up with the situation and the official statement issued to them that says, “Mr. Wopat will be taking personal time to address his ongoing struggle with substance abuse,” continuing that “Tom definitely understands that sobriety is the sole course for a successful future and will take immediate steps to achieve it.” The story continues on that Wopat had been apprehended in his car with what police believed to be a baggie of cocaine.

The Daily News continued with the statement that read, “Mr. Wopat urges everyone to keep in mind that these are allegations; he’s alleged to have improperly touched an adult female performer during rehearsal in the presence of the entire cast and directing staff,” his rep. said. “Tom has faith that the truth will be revealed and his good name will be restored.”

For now, the court case remains opened and only time will tell what lies in the road ahead for this former Dukes of Hazzard star.
