Electronic Speed Bumps are Very Effective
Speed bumps can be a pain in the rear. Sure, some might be alright and do their job, but others require you to slow down way below the posted speed so that crossing over them isn’t a chore or rough on your suspension.
This time, however, we check out a Swedish designed speed bump that electronically decides if you are speeding or not before acting on a speeder.
Cars are gauged when approaching the bump and, if they are speeding, the bump will recess into the ground, providing the driver with a small reminder to slow down a little bit.
However, if the driver is within the speed limit, the bump will stay put, providing a smooth surface for the driver to roll over like nothing ever happened.
Personally, I would have never thought that speed bumps needed a redesign, but after checking this out, I’m not sure that there is any other better way to handle making them the best that they can be.
