Extreme Turbo Failure Turns into Impeller Flying Out of Car
With any racing machine, there are a lot of factors in play as components are pushed to the limit and forced to work with one another in harmony to propel the car, truck, or whatever else it is that you’re racing down or around the track of your choosing.
When you throw so many combustible elements into one high-pressure concoction, the odds that something is going to give out are on the rise. This time, we check out an extreme turbo failure that is basically one of the most dramatic events that you will ever come across. You really don’t see stuff like this happening every day.
While normally, there won’t be much of a show when a car brakes, this time, we watch a turbocharged Mazda RX-7 as it roars up to the line and before we know it, it spits the turbo impeller straight out of the engine bay and onto the ground, causing some big time carnage.
Check out the video down below that shows this car’s final moments as that turbo just isn’t having any more strain put on it. What’s the most catastrophic of engine failures that you’ve seen come to life? I would think that a turbo spitting out its internals would have to rank up there pretty high.
