F50 Reported Stolen, Recovered After 18 Years – Who Gets It? (Rob Ferretti Updates Us!)

Sometimes, situations pop up that the law just can’t seem to figure out. At the end of the day, the people responsible for making the call on who is right and who was wrong can be just as confused as all of us. This is where the lawyers really start to earn their money.

For example, if a car was stolen decades ago and has since turned up, who is the rightful owner? If there have been no new owners, it’s a clear-cut case as the car will just go back to the last person who was in possession of it. However, if a car has managed to be sold several times in between, what happens with all of the parties?

As reported by Rob Ferretti, we have seen exactly the situation come to life. Over on his YouTube channel, he has spelled out the story of a Ferrari F50. Almost 20 years ago, the car was stolen and since then has been able to be retitled in different peoples’ names. Now that it has been discovered as stolen, what happens to the person who currently owns it and bought it legally?

Are they just left holding the bag, out of a car and their cash?

It’s definitely a confusing situation that we could see tangling up lawyers in the process. Sure, if a depreciating vehicle had been sacrificed for cash from an insurance settlement, maybe things would be a little bit more cut and dry. However, when it comes to an appreciating asset like this that’s worth a ton of money, let’s just say that everybody is going to want to make sure they don’t get the short end of the stick.

Down in the video below, we follow along as Ferretti does his best to update us on the case. Let’s just say that things aren’t getting any simpler and this isn’t one that we would want to be caught in the middle of.
