Ferrari 512 M V12 Engine Roar – Start Up, Accelerations & Fly Bys
A few days ago this video was lucky enough to record this 1970 Ferrari 512 M (“modificato”, italian word for “modified”) and it’s part of the Ferrari Turning Wheel Collection. The Ferrari 512 displaced 4993 cc so that the “512” designation should be interpreted as 5.0 Liters and 12 cylinders. This car (chassis #1018) was built as a Ferrari 512 S but it was upgraded to a 512 M in late 1970 in order to beat the opponents of Porsche with their 917K.
The 512 M’s 5 litre 60° V12 engine is able to produce 610 bhp @ 9000 rpm and a max torque of 544 Nm @ 5500 rpm. That was about 60 more horsepower than the 512 S this car was modified from.
