First Tesla Model 3 1/4 Mile Drag Racing Review vs McLaren 720S
It might not seem like it because a lot of attention has been drawn to Tesla and their current products, however, vehicles leading up to Tesla’s Model 3 weren’t really mass-produced. They might’ve made a decent amount of cars but really these cars are only attainable to people who made a good amount of money. However, as the company looks to get even deeper into the market and reach out to more people, Tesla has come out with a version of the car that waters down what you can expect the Model S to deliver but still has a lot to bring to the table in the Model 3.
However, while a car may be judged in many different areas including how it feels to drive, how comfortable it is, or how much mileage it can get out of a charge, one area where it doesn’t quite look like it’s going to live up to the bigger brother is that of performance. While big brother was really a machine that changed the landscape of racing, showing people exactly what’s capable out of an electric vehicle and really turning folks on to the idea that maybe electric isn’t so bad, the Model 3, while still pretty quick for what it is, happens to be a decent step down from its bigger brother.
If you follow along with the video below, you get an idea of how a vehicle like the Tesla Model 3 stacks up against something like a McLaren 720S. I’m not sure that anybody really went into this one expecting it to be a fair race but, on the other hand, you can really get an idea of where a machine like the positions itself in the landscape. How will it perform at the drag strip and how could this car possibly live up to its predecessor? Well, I think you’re about to find out.
