Going Mudding With Drag Slicks Ends Up Being Oddly Effective
If you’re well versed in the world of automotive performance, no matter what kind of the performance it might be, you know that there’s a different tire for pretty much every application. No matter if you’re going off-roading, drag racing, or anything in between, different tires will have different sizes, tread patterns, and even compound compositions, all designed with a specific plan in mind as to tackle the job at hand and get it done in the most efficient way possible. Many tires that you’ll find on regular street vehicles will have tires that mix up some of these factors for optimum performance no matter what the weather.
With this in mind, all of the previously mentioned factors for the tire at hand here are completely wrong when you consider the application. Most of the time, drag racing tires are smooth and have a soft compound in order to facilitate traction on concrete, however, this time, it would appear as if someone has decided that they wanted to see what happened when they took that tire from the opposite end of the spectrum and applied it to a situation like mudding in a high-performance diesel powered truck. When presented with a circumstance like this, we simply couldn’t say “no” to checking it out.

While it seems like something that would get this truck in trouble in a hurry, the plan actually ends up backfiring big time as it appears as if the Silverado simply isn’t wanting to get stuck at all! This probably isn’t something we recommend trying out for yourself but it’s a lot of fun to watch it unfold from the side of the screen.
