Gorgeous Custom Harley Davidson Doing Burnouts, But Rider has Flip Flops On…

We make no secret about the fact that we love some big smoky burnouts, but sometimes you need to use a little common sense when it comes to safety. We aren’t trying to be sticks in the mud and say you always have to follow every rule at all times, I think we’ve established that that ain’t us, but sometimes enthusiasts just take things for granted that could really end up biting them in the butt. One of those things is utilizing basic safety equipment, especially for our brothers out there riding on two wheels.

This rider decides to fire up his custom Harley and lay down a nice fresh black streak, only he didn’t even bother putting on protective boots or a helmet. We know helmets aren’t mandatory in all states, but from a rider standpoint, this guy should want to protect himself in the event things go differently than he planned. Does he have a plan if the bike’s back tire were to grab suddenly and sling him off the back? How about if the bike rotates and he doesn’t move quickly enough and the searing hot headers make contact with his leg? There are just so many unexpected outcomes that can occur that taking unnecessary risks like this never seems like a good idea. Take a few moments, throw on your brain bucket and some boots, then if you want to sling some rubber and something goes haywire, at least you have some measure of protection.

That being said, it is cool to see somebody jump on a tricked out bike and ride it like it was meant to be ridden. All too often, we see custom rides that never turn a tire, and although it might be a show winner, you know all those ponies under the hood or under the seat are wanting to get out and gallop! Take care of your ride, but take it out and let it breathe every now and then.
