Hang in the Garage With Kamikaze Chris as he Goes Twin Turbo on the Elco
There’s something about building cars that can be hard to explain to somebody who has never done it. Those of us who have spent the time around the garage building a machine to go fast know that it’s not all about the finished product. Yeah, winning races is a big part of it.
Instead, many times, the journey is what makes everything so worth it. There’s really something to be said about those hours hanging around in the garage and turning wrenches with a couple of buddies that really define what the car community is all about.
This is a phenomenon that runs all the way up the flagpole from common car enthusiasts all the way to the most famous car builders that exist. A couple of years ago, it wasn’t common that we would get to drop in on these situations. These days, though, with the help of all sorts of social media, we’re able to spend time in the garage with some of our favorite car community cornerstones.
This time, we check in with a ride that has certainly come a long way over the years. During his time of ownership, Kamikaze Chris has taken “The Elco” in some varying directions, each with their own level of success. This time, we tune in as the car is getting a little bit of upgrading and last-second additions to make a run at No Prep Kings.
By following along with the video below, we get to ride along as the machine receives a twin-turbo upgrade. We tend to notice that every build takes a little bit of problem-solving and creativity. This is where the most experienced builders shine and truly gain their advantage. With that said, not only is this a chill hangout around the garage but maybe also a situation where some could pick up a thing or two.
