He Built an Airplane and Cut His Commute by Seven Minutes
A man in the Czech Republic had stepped up and done something we have all at least thought about, if not threatened to do ourselves.
Czech factory worker Frantisek Hadrava built himself an airplane to use to commute to his job, and in doing so, saved himself a full seven minutes of commute time daily. While seven minutes sounds like a laughable gain, especially after investing two years of your time and several thousands of dollars into your commuter plane, but the difference really starts to add up if you scale it out over the year. Seven minutes each way works out to 70 minutes a week on a regular 5-day-a-week, which compounds into two and a half days a year when you do the math.
The single propeller plane is surprisingly cool looking and seems to get the job done perfectly well. While they didn’t address what Frantisek does in the event of inclement weather, this certainly seems like the most enjoyable way to commute back and forth.
