18 Year Old Hellcat Owner Races Dodge Challenger RT!
I’ve been saying for a while now that we’re living in the golden era of performance right now. While the late 60’s and early 70’s were without a doubt responsible for some of the cars that gearhead wet dreams are made of, today’s sports cars are just simply better. Thanks to the amazing technology crammed under the hood and in the on-board computers of modern sports cars, we have rides like Dodge’s Hellcat twins, the Charger and Challenger, both of which crank out more than 700 horsepower while offering perfectly reasonable daily driver manners and, when your foot on the floorboard, they even get respectable fuel mileage.
While there are offerings from Chevy and Ford, Dodge has really taken the reigns on offering several levels of performance, with something in the lineup for nearly any budget, and that leads to a lot of Dodge-on-Dodge clashes on the streets, and we ain’t even mad about it!
Our camera car is a 2015 Challenger RT, and today it and it’s driver, Modern Muscle213 on YouTube, run up on a ride that they just can’t resist tangling with, even though the outcome is all but absolute destruction of the RT. There’s something about seeing a Hellcat in the wild that just brings out that urge to race, even when you know going in you have way too little horsepower to even stand a chance.
As expected, the kid in the Hellcat jumps out to a multiple-car-length lead every time the two cars hit the throttle, regardless of the race being from a dig or a roll. Of course, with over 200 more horsepower on tap from the blown Hemi powerplant, the Hellcat SHOULD win easily. We have to give Modern Muscle213 props for lining up for a certain “L” just to get some great close-up footage of the Hellcat in action. Hopefully this video gets him enough views to get some new tires!
