Here’s Why the Lamborghini LM002 Is Worth $400,000
Back in the 80’s Lamborghini built an absurd, inefficient, poorly-designed SUV and, as you might imagine, it’s developed a cult following that rivals that of any offbeat, rare vehicle from days gone by.
And of course, since it wears the Lambo name, the LM002 has only grown in value over the years, with some pristine models worth upwards of $400,000. YouTube host Doug DeMuro rounded up an LM002 and brought along his cameras to take us on a tour and test drive of one of the few LM’s remaining in the US.
As you can see, if we’re being honest, it’s a really poorly designed layout. Doug goes into great detail about how strangely misplaced the buttons, mirrors and even ignition switch are, as well as how ridiculously inefficient the SUV is – in both fuel mileage and storage capacity – despite having Lamborghini’s engineering team on the job. Of course, nobody buys SUV’s for their efficiency, at least not these massive, high-end iterations. During the test drive, Doug seems much less critical of the SUV and more like a kid taking his drive.
This video is a tad lengthy, but DeMuro really dives into his time with the LM002, so this clip should answer any questions you ever had about that time Lamborghini built their take on a Hummer.
