Home Owners Association Illegally Booted Neighborhood Cars for no Apparent Reason

In theory, the homeowners’ association is a good idea. Ideally, people who live in a community will contribute to the association and they have some power so that everyone can come together to come to a solution if multiple homeowners have the same problem. However, as you have heard in countless horror stories from across the country, many people end up having more than their fair share of the issues with their particular HOAs. The problems can range in everything from people having issues with the garbage cans being left out all the way to neighbors complaining about grass getting just a little bit too long but this time, we check out an HOA issue that might just be the ultimate inconvenience and ends up being pretty costly to some people in this community.

In this situation, we check out a situation in which yet another HOA seems to have taken their role in the community entirely too seriously and, as a result, ended up having news crews knocking down their door. You see, in this situation, it turned out that the association decided that it would be a good idea to boot peoples’ cars while parked on the street. Whenever they saw a car that didn’t belong, they would slap the boot on it and charge the owner a $75 fine. Now, if this were an area where a lot of people were parking their cars to go to nearby shops or something like that and it was actually annoying the people in the neighborhood, this might’ve been an idea with some merit but it turned out that the plan was just negatively affecting the people of the community and also highly illegal.

You see, in order to boot someone’s car, you either have to be a privileged public official or the car has to be violating a published parking rule as enforced on private property. However, in this sticky situation, they were booting cars on public streets and as such, their actions were highly against the law. It looks like, after news companies came out and started poking around, the HOA decided to stop what they were doing all at once, pulling down any signs that had to do with the booting and apparently seizing their actions. Be sure to check out the report below and tell us what you think of this controversial parking the debauchery then ended up stirring the pot quite a bit.
