“Hood Rat Things with my Friends” Kid all Grown Up, Things Haven’t Changed Much

Sometimes, it seems like out of nowhere, the Internet will grab a clip that seems to be a little bit out of the ordinary and, at the flip the switch, make somebody infamous seemingly overnight whether they planned it or not. The power the web really can lift an individual to a status that they never thought to be possible and probably wasn’t possible before everybody was so connected to one another. This time, we trace one story back to its roots and how it all got started, affording us the opportunity to catch up with the star of the story almost 10 years after the 2008 viral hit.

One video that seemed to have swept the internet was a clip of then seven-year-old Latarian Milton who had just stolen his grandmother’s vehicle and decided to go on a joy ride, running into several things before it all came to an end in a scene that would be picked up by the local news. In his interview after the fact, the youngster who probably didn’t know any better or even had the opportunity to know better told reporters that he didn’t really care all that much about the consequences but thought that it was fun to do bad things and just wanted to do “hood rat stuff” with his friends.

After seeing something like this, sure, it made for a nice little clip that ended up going viral, giving people a quick little chuckle, however, you would only hope that time would treat Latarian well, maybe this young man would be able to get things straight and move his way toward a positive life. However, if the recent allegations have anything to say about it, we’ve learned that, so far, he’s currently continuing down that same path. If you follow with the news report below, you’ll learn all about the story that has Milton at the scene of a crime as he seems to have robbed a Lyft driver, stealing the driver’s wallet and jacket with several accomplices before making off with his car. Hopefully, Milton is able to make the most of this experience and do better, proving that he can learn from situations like this and apply it to a more productive future.
