How Could the Most Luxurious Ride From 1999 Compare to Today?

Sometimes, it can be easy to get lost in just how quickly things have been moving. For example, in our automobiles, just about everything has changed over the last decade or so. Things like power sources, electronics inside, and even the materials that cars are made out of been altered.

Sometimes, it can really be easy to lose track of just how great things have gotten. However, when we take a look back, revisiting older technology could make us appreciate modern-day technology even more. Is it better? That’s for you to decide. It has certainly come a long way, though.

When looking at something like the Bentley Mulliner Park Ward limousine, we’re checking out at a vehicle that is the top tier of luxury. This was something that someone would’ve paid an incredible amount of money for it when it was new back in 1999. With the best of everything, this was certainly the car to have.

We wonder, though, how it would hold up to today’s standards. Some 21 years later, it might be a little bit hard to find a version that’s not modified. However, Doug DeMuro was able to track one down. When he did, we found it incredibly interesting to take a peek at what the best of the best looked like two decades ago.

While the car is pretty impressive and has a lot of value as a classic, it definitely doesn’t hold a candle to today’s technology. Even though they were giving it their best shot and investing a lot to perfect this thing, There’s no way that it could possibly hold up to the advancements that we see today. Perhaps some of that old-school cool really gives the car a little bit of charm, though.

By following along with the video below, we’re able to see the stark difference between the best of 1999 and what one might expect today. It’s wild to think of what was going on at the time that was considered top-tier. While the materials might still hold a high standard, the technology is another story. In fact, it’s something that we find on the discount rack today. Some of it might even begin to be sold as vintage pretty soon.
