Hennessey Performance Shows Off The 1800+ Horsepower Platform Powering The 300 MPH Hyper Car The F5

The announcement of the Hennessey Venom F5 has had us on edge as we await the monster to debut. Following up the haymakers thrown by the Venom GT, this thing is bound to be an absolute handful. For those who don’t recall, about five years ago, the GT set the land speed record for two-seater sports cars. At the time, the platform was able to power its way to just over 270 mph.

With the F5, Hennessey says that the car has gone through an “extensive engineering and development phase.”

When all of the cards would fall in place, the engine powering this beast makes some serious power. It cranks out 1817 horsepower and 1193 lb-ft of torque to be more precise. In order to get there, the powerhouse formed around LS architecture. With a variety of lightweight parts and even some 3D printed parts, an exhaustive effort would create some insane muscle. Hennessey even claims that their efforts exceeded their target horsepower.

This time, we get to see the engine in action on the dyno. It’s a pretty crazy listen as the combination is backed by a pair of Precision ball-bearing turbos. The whistle that this thing omits is almost like an orchestra from above. It has the combination that is guaranteed to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Just imagine seeing it in action.

The engine dubbed “Fury” can be seen and perhaps, more importantly, heard, down in the video below! 8,000 RPM of LS based power never sounded so good! We can’t wait to see what happens once this bad boy is put to use. If it’s anything like the last time that we saw a “Venom” platform in use, it’s sure to be a whirlwind. We’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled and share any updates right here on Speed Society.
