Infiniti Q80 Inspiration Concept: 2014 Paris Auto Show Preview
The quagmire that is Infiniti’s decision to change its entire model lineup to a range of Q- and QX- based alphanumeric sequences may gain its ultimate justification at the 2014 Paris Auto Show, where the Q80 Inspiration Concept will make its debut.
A sleek, four-door, four-seater coupe profile wraps sinuous curves and flowing surfaces, defining a new range-topping vehicle that impresses at first look.

While the front of the car—the fenders and hood at least, as visible in the rear three-quarter preview image released today, seem to communicate existing Infiniti styling, the sides and rear take the brand in a new direction—and it’s an enticing heading.
Sculptural elements along the side squeeze and expand into the rear haunches; the taut roofline is slashed by the jutting rear support. Broad tail lights spread like wings over the tucked rear end.
Infiniti hints that the Q80 Inspiration isn’t entirely about design, too, with talk of “a no-compromise ambassador of driver-centric powertrain and onboard technologies.” An adaptive suspension lies beneath the skin.

What that means in terms of performance and handling remains to be seen, of course, but given the brand’s existing ability to tune a luxury chassis for sporting ability, the Q80’s Panamera-minus-the-awkwardness styling promises much.
As for the cabin of the Q80, Infiniti explains it as “spacious ‘1 + 1 + 1 + 1′ seating,” with carbon fiber, aluminum, and leather the featured materials. Spacious it should be: the Q80 Inspiration measures 198.9 inches long, sits on a wheelbase of 122.2 inches, is 79.8 inches wide, and stands 53.1 inches tall.
The full details of Infiniti’s new Q80 Inspiration concept, including photos and more, will arrive with the car’s unveiling at the Paris show at 3:30 p.m. local time on October 2.
