Is This The Most Insane 69 Camaro Build You Have Ever Seen?
When it comes to cars that make it a little bit tough to stand out from the crowd, you can look to those models like the Chevrolet Camaro. Hold on, before you chase me down with your flaming torches and pitchforks, allow me to explain. I, like many folks, find the first generation Camaro to be a machine that dreams are made of. However, when you consider how many of these things you’ll see at your local car show, making one stand out from the rest is a bit difficult sometimes. I think that’s a pretty solidly grounded idea that those who can look at things objectively will be able to agree with.
This time, however, we check out a machine that has been completely radicalized from top to bottom, with some of the most aggressive yet clean styling and fabrication queues that you’ll see on a car today! This insane Camaro put together by the Roadster Shop is known as the “Inferno Camaro” and after taking one look at this thing, you’ll see why it’s earned that name. It’s incredibly interesting to see how these guys fabricated together just the right parts to make this old-school machine mesh well with late model General Motors technology in such a way that it comes together almost like it was meant to be at birth.
At the heart of it all, the car features a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 (new-gen, of course) built by Texas Speed & Performance which is enough to spill 680 horsepower to the rear wheels through a Tremec T56 Magnum transmission. From there, I can’t say that there is too much that you’ll see on many other cars as they engineered and fabricated everything down to the car’s own custom serpentine-drive system to mount a KRD power-steering pump. The video down below might span almost 25-minutes, but trust us when we tell you that this car is worth getting up close and personal with. Just about everything, inside and out, is unique to this car so be sure to pay attention and soak it all in!
