Jeff Lutz shaking down “The Evil Twin” at Thunder Valley Raceway
In the world of drag racing, the life cycle is like a circle. While you might be going on to do bigger and better things, all of these ventures essentially fall into the same ballpark. First, you work on your car, you test your car, you race your car and maybe if you’re lucky, you get to the top. At this point, you’re challenged and find the need to step your game up even more and this is where the cycle starts over again.
For racers that have achieved the status of Jeff Lutz, lots of testing gets thrown into the mix. Just like anything else, you really need to practice your craft to perfect it and this statement might even hold more true to drag racing than anything else.
Check out the video below that shows Lutz throwing down at Thunder Valley Raceway in the 405, making a couple of test hits and shaking down the Evil Twin 57 Chevy to work out all of the kinks so that when it comes time to race, he’s able to simply hop in the car, head out to the track, and dominate. After all, it is a lot better to learn during test sessions that it is to learn in a competitive environment.
