Joe Rogan’s 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Restomod
Joe Rogan turned a starring role as the host of Fear Factor into a career as a comedian, television host, and renown MMA expert. He’s been an on-air personality and in-ring interviewer for UFC for many years, has a successful stand up tour, and one of the most popular podcasts in the world.
He’s also a car guy, and one of his hotrods, this badass 1965 Corvette Stingray, got the attention of our friend and consummate car guy Jay Leno, who decided to feature the car in a segment of Jay Leno’s Garage.
Joe and Jay discuss the car and how it came to be, then bring in Steve Strope, who brought the Corvette to life at his shop, Pure Vision to really dive into the build from a technical standpoint. The car is powered by a stock LS1 with a Magnusson supercharger bolted atop the bullet. The supercharger required some custom brackets and fabrication under the hood to get things to line up correctly and fit beneath the factory style cowl induction hood.
You can tell the car is healthy when Joe and Jay take it for a spin, with the Maggie blower screaming when the loud pedal is pressed. The car features some great fitment and has a cool set of wheels that really stand out due to their solid center design. The car itself is draped over a custom chassis and features many modern Corvette components to modernize the classic styling of the Stingray. The car also has a great, subtle custom interior that is modern, but still very much classic ‘Vette.
Overall this is a great looking, solid running hotrod that is a perfect fit for a guy like Rogan, who combines the brute force and finesse of MMA with his comedic timing and skill that are perfectly reflected in this gorgeous ride.
