Justin “Racecar” McDaniel VS Chevy Nova on the Street! WILD PASS!

While most of America knows him as part of the Plan B crew on Street Outlaws, Justin “Racecar” McDaniel actually has a small tire car of his own that he’s built quite a solid reputation with on the streets of Oklahoma City. When it came time for the OKC Cash Days, Racecar seemed like a solid bet to win, but a small mechanical issue nearly tuned into a huge one when he lined up against this stout Chevy Nova.

After laying down a wicked 100’ burnout, McDaniel backed up into the fresh patches of rubber and lined up alongside the Nova. Unbeknownst to him, or anybody else for that matter, a fitting on his transmission had came loose, dumping transmission fluid under the car. As the flagger pulled the cars up to the line, the leak made a puddle big enough to get under the tires, so as soon as the light came on to start the race, the Mustang lost traction, sending Racecar veering left and right as the tires spun.

Meanwhile, the Nova laid down a solid run that would have been tough to beat on a good run, so there was no chance for McDaniel to come back even if he had been able to regain traction. This is just another reason racing is such a great sport to be a part of. On any given day, on any given track or street, there are no sure things. It’s pretty safe to say if things had gone according to plan, Justin would have outrun this Nova, but all it took was one fitting being loose and it completely changed everything.

We’re just glad Racecar was able to keep his car between the ditches and not end up on his lid. At least it was a minor issue and not a whole transmission failure that would have cost several thousand dollars to repair.
