Kangaroo Hops on a Racetrack Mid-Race Causing Instant Mayhem!

We’ve seen groundhogs, squirrels and even foxes on racetracks causing officials to halt the racing while the critter is corralled off the racing surface, but something we don’t have to worry about in the states is probably a fairly common obstacle for our gearhead brethren down under: kangaroos!

During this road race at Australia’s Bathurst Raceway, that’s exactly what happens, as one of the outbacks hoppers found his way onto the winding course, causing the drivers to take evasive action. Luckily for the misguided marsupial, everybody is able to maneuver around him as he bounds frantically down the stretch of asphalt.

As the cars brake and slide around him, the kangaroo clearly gets the idea that he’s in danger and exits the track at the first available opportunity to do so, escaping a painful impact and saving some unlucky driver and race team some expensive repairs.
