Lemon Powered Supercar- WORLD’S LARGEST Lemon Battery
You know what they say, if life were to give you lemons, it’s definitely an opportunity to make lemonade.
If you think all the way back to the days of the science fair, you might remember an experiment that would take the opportunity to try and draw a little bit of power out of a lemon. Sure, it might not have been good for very much outside of maybe powering something small like a light bulb, if that, however, it was pretty neat to see how energy can be stored in something like a citrus fruit and how you can extract that energy, no matter how small the amount, to make it useful on some sort of a small scale.
This time, however, we ride along with YouTuber, Mark Rober, he is tasked with attempting to use lemons to charge the battery for an electric supercar from Volkswagen, a supercar that has a pretty important job itself as it’s slated to climb the Pike’s Peake 12-mile mountain course that spans over some insane geography.
As you can imagine, this is no simple task as each lemon houses a small amount of energy so, the journey is going to show us exactly what would happen if a whole bunch of lemons were linked together in the name of charging up one battery for this supercar. As things move on, eventually, we get to see that maybe this isn’t the most reasonable way of putting together a power source, however, it isn’t time to quit just yet!
If you follow along down in the video below, you’ll be able to follow the steps and see how exactly a challenge is met here and we’re shown a couple of interesting ways to charge up the battery that you might have never originally thought of.
