Here’s What it’s Like to Live on a $600 Per Month Boat in Los Angeles
There are a lot of ways to live.
As far as living arrangements go, obviously, there are all kinds of different budgets that are going to have to change depending on where someone resides in the country. Naturally, in an area like Los Angeles, living is incredibly expensive. Whether someone is renting or buying a home, everything all the way down to efficiency is going to cost a pretty penny.
With expense in mind along with other factors, folks have turned to alternative ways to live. One interesting form of housing that we’ve found recently has people on the move, converting things like school buses into mobile living quarters. In recent years, it really seems like the tiny home has been trending. With that, people are really getting creative with that concept and putting their own spin on things.
This time, we check out a concept that might just be tiny home adjacent. Instead of living on land, though, this one goes to the sea. With the help of a 40-foot boat and a slip, this group seems to be living the dream. At the end of the day, they end up beating the high rent costs in LA as their living expenses tally up to about $600 per month. That’s relatively reasonable no matter where we’re looking at in the country, let alone, an area like Los Angeles.
For those who’re wondering what exactly a boat like this costs, we think that it’s safe to say that $40,000 should be plenty to purchase a vessel in this range. That sounds like a lot of money but when comparing it to other options, it’s really not that expensive at all, especially when considering the rent or mortgage savings.
