Low Mile 1980 Ford F-250 Fetches Nearly $100,000 at Auction

Yes, you read that title properly.

It’s pretty insane to take a look at how the values of some cars can fluctuate up and down. The truth of the matter is that it’s incredibly hard to predict which vehicles are going to be worth a lot of money in the future. Even those who are incredibly familiar with the industry have commented that it can be tough to pick out the winners and purchase them at a low price before they shoot up in value.

In any case, seeing that a 1980 Ford pickup truck nearly fetch $100,000 is truly enough to make our heads spin.

We’re sure that if some folks had a crystal ball back in 1980, they would’ve snatched up a ton of these things. A fully loaded example would have cost no more than $10,000. Even when accounting for inflation, that’s about $30,000 in today’s money and, while it’s not quite buying Apple stock at a few bucks, it’s a nice little investment.

When this particular 1980 Ford F-250 with just 76 miles on it would be listed on the auction site, Bring a Trailer, it would fetch a final bid of $97,000.

The ad summed up the truck as follows, “The truck is powered by a 5.8-liter V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission with a dual-range transfer case, and it is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over blue vinyl. Equipment includes locking hubs, lower body-side molding, towing mirrors, a tool storage box, an auxiliary fuel tank, and an AM radio. This F-250 4×4 now shows 76 miles.”

Outside, the truck is coated in a midnight blue metallic paint and has the added lower body molding, steel rear bumper, and towing mirrors. Inside, the interior basically screams 1980s as we are greeted by a blue dashboard and bench seat alike. Everything within is original and really should bring back some memories for those old enough to remember these things.

Even underneath, the truck is nearly spotless as it is said to have spent the majority of its life in storage until the original owner sold it to the dealer in October 2020.
