Man’s Truck Stolen as he’s Robbing a Store, Calls Police, Gets Arrested
There are a lot of videos on the web floating around that show off a dose of instant karma. One moment, somebody is doing something that might not exactly be above board. The next, though, the universe sends it right back at them, delivering up a does of the most unlikely form of revenge. This time, we check out such a case that is almost too to good be true.
Via CBS Affilliate, KMOV4, the Kennewick Department tells us that 42-year-old William Kelley decided to steal some items from a business around 6 AM this past Sunday. It seems as if he was able to do that undetected. However, as he was stealing the items, he didn’t have the foresight to bring his keys with him. Instead, he left the keys on the front seat of his 1992 Chevrolet pickup truck.
While he was in the store, looking for a five-finger discount, it just so happened that somebody would be outside doing the same. A man on a bicycle would ride past the truck several times, noticing that the keys were inside. He decided to toss the bike in the pickup’s bed and ride off with the vehicle.
As Kelley made his way out of the store, he eventually noticed that his truck was driving away. He gave chase but his efforts were futile. This would be when he made the decision to phone the police. It’s probably not the best idea given that he allegedly just stole some things from the store where the truck was taken from him. However, my guess is that, when weighing his options, his truck was worth risking going to jail for.
The officers haven’t been able to locate the truck or whoever stole it. Kelley, however, was arrested on an outstanding warrant with new charges of burglary added to his rap sheet.
