Midwest Street Cars Phantom’s Shop Truck ChiChi Baseline Dyno!

One of the fun things about taking a stock or nearly stock vehicle and making it your very own, building it to the racing machine of your dreams, is that no matter if you’re that single person working away all hours of the night in your garage or the biggest shop that there is, everyone starts in the same place and we can see how different people use their abilities and tastes to make something out of a platform that was pretty much nothing other than a factory machine, designed to hit the hardware store or get the kids to school or some mix of other ordinary factors.

This time, that starting point has a couple of small modifications done to it but we don’t think that, when all is said and done, this Chevrolet Silverado is going to be anything close to ordinary. For starters, the truck has a nice beefy cam in it, a set of mufflers, and a set of 3.42 gears. Other than that, it’s pretty much what you would have seen roll off of the assembly line. It definitely sounds good, but other than that, this thing needs a little bit to make it get up and go. However, in order to measure exactly the difference between where they’re at now and where this thing is going to end up being, they need to lay down a nice little baseline for comparison sake.

Follow along down in the video below as the truck manages to put down 250 hp to the rollers with modifications given and, after a little bit of tweaking, finds a way to squeeze out another 40 or so horsepower, tipping the scales at 289 to the rear wheels. We must say that Phantom’s shop truck, ChiChi, over at Midwest Street Cars is a pretty clean looking machine and we definitely can’t wait to see what happens as he goes through the steps of this full build, bringing it from a nice little street truck to something more!
