Mike Murillo Takes Home $40,000 At Street Outlaws No Prep Kings!

Mike Murillo is a name many racing fans have been hearing for years, as Mike is a 14 time Champion in the NMRA/NMCA series, and small tire racing legend! Winning many races in his signature twin turbo Foxbody Mustang known as “Lafawnduh” Mike has been everywhere! Racing on the street racing show “Street Outlaws”, and the new one “No Prep Kings” We have seen Mike have great passes, and come close to winning, but this time he finally got the job done! Taking his car all the way to a final round victory against Ryan Martin in the Fireball Camaro.

Things haven’t always been great for Mike though, his team struggled for a good bit of time to figure out this new “No Prep” racing style, even having a bad accident before a race down in Edinburgh, Texas where he rolled Lafawnduh over a guard rail. The team pushed through all the growing pains of a freshly built car, a better power plant, and stiff competition who had an experience advantage on this new surface though. Never giving up, even with his own promotion with good friend, and partner Scott Taylor taking up much of his time. They got the car figured out, and have gone many rounds in the new series.

Going into the race at the famed track in Colorado the team had momentum on their side, but the thin air in Denver was giving many guys fits, causing a few red light starts for turbo cars, and a couple guys “Timed out”, Mike didn’t have an easy road to victory either, having drawn Randy Williams in his nitrous assisted Dodge Dart first round, in the 3rd round he drew veteran racer Chuck Seitsinger, and in the finals he drew Ryan Martin in the Proline powered Fireball Camaro.
