In this video, this Mitsubishi Eclipse drag car driver finds himself in a quite dangerous situation as his transmission decides that it isn’t interested in living any longer.

As the transmission explodes, parts go soaring into the car and luckily not toward the driver. We’re not quite positive of the extent of the damage, but from our perspective, we’d think that the driver should be thanking his lucky stars that he wasn’t impaled with flying transmission shrapnel.
