Monster of a CTS-V Hits the Dyno – Most Powerful V in Existence?
Even though the second generation of Cadillac CTS-V has been off of the market for six years at this point, these things are still hold up to the market in several different regards. Naturally, the performance under the hood is still relevant as the LSA power pushes the luxury performance machines to be pretty competitive. Out of the box, the cars were something to be feared. With just a couple of basic modifications, the second generation V would be able to power its way into the nine-second range in a quarter mile.
This time, though, we check in with somebody who opted to go down a different path. It takes some guts to cut into a car like this but the result of this one is nothing short of amazing. Lloyd Wofford’s CTS-V drag radial racer might not really resemble that much of the original car. However, the machine that he has concocted is nothing short of amazing.
In a variety of different ways, this car pays homage to the original. However, when all is said and done, let’s just say that it makes a little bit more horsepower than the original.
FuelTech relays, “Lloyd Wofford has competed in quite a few race categories over the years, but his latest hot rod could be his greatest build of all-time. B&B Racecars took a 2014 Cadillac CTS-V coupe and cut it up in order to create one of the most stunning racecars in the popular Limited Drag Radial category. The endless chromoly tubing is designed to harness the power of a ProCharger-blown Nelson Competition 481X billet engine. A FuelTech FT600 engine management was the ECU of choice for the team due to many reasons. Simplicity in digital systems is a key factor to efficiency and reliability and the FT600 engine management offers those elements because it is an all-in-one piece of technology.”
This one is really a treat for all the senses. Not only does the monster machine look incredible. It also creates more than enough power to satisfy whoever is behind the wheel. Be sure to crank up those speakers and grab that popcorn. This machine is something that dreams are made of.
