Murder Nova vs Fireball Camaro… Hop Into The Drivers Seat

If you watched the most recent episode of Street Outlaws, you already know how this race went down. What should have been one of the closest races of the night ended up being a bit anti-climactic when the engine in the Murder Nova was way down on power when it came time to go to war with Ryan in the Fireball Camaro.

Shawn knew something was amiss as soon as he fired up the car to drive to the line, but being an OG street racer like he is, Shawn risked completely destroying his twin-turbocharged ProLine big block and raced Ryan anyway. From the view inside the Murder Nova, you can see the windshield fog as soon as he begins to build boost. For those who don’t know, this means hot air is coming from somewhere under the hood and not out the exhaust, a definite indicator of something in the engine being broken. However, in true Shawn fashion, he just sends it, and actually gives Ryan a pretty good race considering he’s noticeably down on power. The car doesn’t even carry the front tires, something it’s typically more than capable of when all of the power is churning under the hood.

Ryan, meanwhile, is in the left lane laying down a pretty stellar run that would have been hard to beat even if the Nova was at 100%, but these two are always good for a great side-by-side race when they line up. Ryan went on to take the win against Chuck and unseat him for the #1 spot, proving his car is definitely one of the baddest hotrods in OKC.

As we know, the show takes a hiatus over the holiday, but will return on the first day of 2018 with an all new episode featuring the huge No Prep throw down from Bristol Dragway that broke the internet earlier this year. We will be watching closely to see how that episode goes down for sure!
